new instructor orientation
Have you ever seen a webpage that’s absolutely overloaded with info? The kind of webpage that makes you immediately think, ‘who’s reading this entire thing?’ For this project, I took one of these “walls of text,” as I like to call them, chock full of dull yet essential content and made an interactive six-mini-lesson course with Articulate Rise. Once finished, I exported the course as a SCROM package and uploaded it to the client’s LMS for course completion tracking. The course is set to go live for the start of Spring semester. IMplementing effective video projects
After conducting a thorough needs analysis with the high school faculty at Galloway School in Atlanta, GA, our team created an online course for implementing effective video projects in the classroom. The course consists of three modules and a scenario-based assessment. My primary role on the project was that of lead graphic designer, though I also designed and developed the course using Articulate Storyline. We wanted to include scenario-based assessment questions that drew heavily on real-world context at Galloway School. I'm proud of the ways that we were able to assess user learning and get learners to think about the content beyond simple multiple-choice answering.
Student Services Showcase video
My client wanted a brief video to showcase the student services on offer at the University of Georgia's Gwinnett Campus. This video would be shared with new students, staff, and faculty members to highlight the services the campus offers that are designed to meet the needs of working professionals. I created the video using Camtasia and designed custom graphics using tools from the University's branding office. This project was viewed at the Spring 2017 orientation by 200 graduate students and it has increased student awareness of these key services.
Recording with Blackboard ultra
A group of guest instructors for the Industrial Organizational Psychology Masters Program needed to record their class within a Blackboard Collaborate online classroom. They were initially provided with a PDF how-to guide, but this process proved to be ineffective. Therefore, the client asked me to produce a screencast tutorial that would take users through the process step-by-step. My associate, Kristina, produced a script and storyboard, and I created the video and audio using Camtasia and Audacity.
